Save the Date!

Friends of the studio, David and Rebecca, are getting married this coming September and we received their Save the Date in the mail. Rebecca is a very creative graphic designer, who designed the cards herself. We always enjoy when our clients include us in their mailing list for Save the Date. It not only makes us feel more a part of their event, but also gives us the opportunity to photograph it and include it in the details section of their wedding. Not to mention, we get to see how creative all of our clients are. Fun stuff!

As for the card, it was all created on her own Epson printer; proving once again, Save the Dates can be just that easy!

Christine and Matt

This past weekend Belen and Emily photographed the wedding of Christine and Matt. Both Christine and Matt are architects, so pictures of some of the amazing buildings in the city was very important to them. Especially the historically significant Mies van de Rohe post office downtown. The Alexander Calder sculpture in the plaza is also a wonderful place to take pictures.

Their reception was in Preston Bradley Hall at the Cultural Center. Their planner, Renny Pedersen of Bliss Weddings, offset the newly restored Tiffany dome with Philippe Starck Ghost Chairs and crisp white orchids.

The icing on the cake of their wonderful day was taking a few night shots with the newly opened Modern Wing of the Art Institute designed by architect Renzo Piano.

Thanks guys for such a wonderful day!

Holly and Matt

Holly and Matt were great to work with and it was raining all day but they were troopers!  We decided to go out  with umbrellas and make the shoot happen. Holly and Matt are getting married in Austin later this year and we're looking forward to going down there and working with them in Holly's hometown.

Kristin & Joe

On May 9th, we photographed the wedding of Kristin and Joe. We had a great time; the bride and groom were so fun and their wedding party was an exciting bunch! They got married at Trinity Lutheran Church and had their reception at the Oakbrook Hyatt on the McDonald's campus which is beautiful, natural and almost as photogenic as Kristin and Joe! Enjoy!

Lizzie & David

Gerber+Scarpelli goes to NYC! Last weekend was a whirl wind in the big apple. This past Saturday we shot the wedding of David & Lizzie Diller. Ever since she was a little girl Lizzie had wanted to get married under the trees in Central Park. She and David planned their wedding to coincide with the park's most beautiful season, the spring, when everything is lush and green. Even though there were no cherry blossoms on the trees, they made up for it by using the flowers to decorate their reception at Studio 450. It was a picture perfect event, and a picture perfect day! Thanks guys!

Ellen and John April 18, 2009

On a beautiful spring day we had the honour of photographing Ellen and John's wedding.
The couple got married at St Michaels church and had the reception at Cafe Brauer. Lincoln Park Zoo
is one of their favorite places in the city as they got engaged there. Everyone had a lovely time.

Christine and Erich

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of working with Christine and Erich. Their wedding was very unique; the ceremony was held at the theological seminary at the University of Chicago and was filled with many of the traditions from Christine's Philippine heritage, such as the lasso and the mantilla. They had their reception at a relatively new venue, Northerly Island, where the old Meigs Field used to be. It is a really beautiful and peaceful little sanctuary in the middle of the city. Erich and Christine were wonderful to work with; so laid back, yet game for anything!

Thanks guys, for making the day so enjoyable!

Jen and Sean

A few weeks ago we shot Jen and Sean's Wedding at St Clement's and the History Museum. It was an unusually warm spring day, and the city looked wonderful! Some of our favorite vendors were also apart of the day, including the Chicago Catz, one of the best bands in the city!

Thanks Jen and Sean for such a great time!
