The Proposal: Akhil and Disha got engaged over Labor Day weekend last year, almost exactly one year before they would get married. Disha had done an exchange program in Japan during college, and the couple had talked about going to Japan one day since starting to date two years prior. Last August, Akhil told her about how great it would be to visit the Japanese gardens at the Chicago Botanical Gardens, especially before the weather got cold. It had rained that morning, but Akhil insisted that they still visit the botanical gardens. After two hours of walking around they finally found themselves in the Japanese garden. Akhil took Disha to an area with a beautiful view of the rest of the gardens, and told her that he had a present for her- it was the most beautiful ring Disha had ever seen. She said yes and they began to plan their wedding.
The Wedding: Disha and Akhil's wedding took place at the Hilton Tower, with a beautiful color theme of fuchsia, cream, and orange. The incredible event was planned by Sabrina Hans Events, with amazing cinematography by Aria Films, abundant florals by Lavish Weddings, and catering by India House. Disha's hair and makeup was by Maria Barerra and her shoes were Stuart Weitzman.
The reception entertainment was provided by Sunny Singh.
