2014 Pantone Color of the Year

Spring is officially here, and for many newly engaged couples the wedding planning has just begun. Here at Gerber + Scarpelli Photography we've created a Pinterest page to share full of inspiration boards, real weddings, and our features on blogs like Style Me Pretty to help you dream and plan your perfect day.  We will be pinning weekly!

We would like to start with the Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid. It's a beautiful, rich color to incorporate into your wedding day. Amazing on all skin tones, and not overly feminine. It would look luxe on your groom too. (we promise- check out the Pinterest board!)

Weddings with colorful vibrant details come to life in photographs and video extremely well. Whether Radiant Orchid is used as the primary color for your wedding or as an accent, this bold choice will leave quite the impression on your guests.

Rachel and Gene's Waldorf Wedding

We had an awesome time working with Rachel and Gene on their beautiful winter wedding! Rachel got ready in the Trump's super swanky salon while Gene suited up in the Penthouse of the Waldorf Astoria. After they saw each other for the first time at Trump then it was over to the Waldorf in a classic Rolls Royce. From there it was a beautiful ceremony before a JUMPIN party - thanks to Al Okyne of Okyne Media Lab. All in all it was a truly excellent party and we're so happy to have been a part of their big day! Take a look at some of our favorite pics!

Trish and Stephen's Awesome Allerton Wedding

A couple years ago Trish and Stephen met on a train platform. Stephen, who is from Ireland, asked Trish for help navigating the Chicago Transit System and from there a romance began that would take her across the Atlantic to live with him in Ireland. After Stephen proposed they began planning a wedding in Chicago that they knew would be a treat for their friends and family from both the US and Ireland. After a beautiful mass at Old St Pats the snow started gently falling providing a great backdrop for a photo tour that included The Chicago Brown Line platform, The Wrigley Building and The Kinzie St Bridge. We wrapped things up and it was back to the Allerton for a wonderful celebration including hilarious toasts and manic dancing. Trish and Stephen are back in Ireland now and we're so thrilled that we got a chance to be a part of their wedding that we threatened to crash on their couch if we get to make it over the pond anytime soon!

Ashley & Paul's Chicago History Museum Wedding

Ashley and Paul tied the knot at one of our all time favorite venues: The Chicago History Museum. After getting ready at the Public Hotel, Ashley and Paul saw each other for the first time in front of the historic Greystones of the Gold Coast before it was off for photos! Ashley wanted to carry the theme of the 1893 Worlds Fair through the whole wedding, so we kept our eyes peeled for opportunities and found a couple awesome ones - see if you can spot them in this post! After a touching ceremony it was time to party and party everyone did thanks to tasty treats and drinks from Blue Plate and awesome music thanks to Max from StyleMatters. Take a look at some of our favorites!
