Amanda+Chris's University Club of Chicago Wedding

The Proposal: Friday, February 14, 2014

Amanda had been working at her company's headquarters in Valencia, CA for a week of meetings.  The meeting went late on Friday so she was not going to be able to fly home until Saturday morning to see Chris.  At the conclusion of the meeting, Amanda's boss & great friend, Apryl asked if she would like to meet her at the bar for a drink before heading to dinner.  Being southern California, the evening was gorgeous, so Apryl got them a table outside.  Amanda found her at a table set for two with a bottle of Prosecco chilling.  She thought this was a little strange as the two of them were amongst a number of couples enjoying their romantic Valentine dinners.  As soon as the cork popped, she felt a hand on the back of her shoulder and looked up to see Chris!  Amanda jumped up to give him a big hug & asked what he was doing there.  He said he just wanted to surprise her for Valentine's Day.  As she went to sit back down, he also went down... on his knee.  Obviously she said "YES"!
The Wedding: The day started with Amanda and Chris getting ready at the University Club of Chicago. The wedding day was planned by Chuck Share, Weddings Inc. Amanda's makeup was by Tracy Fine of Fine Makeup Art, hair by Pattie Campbell, and wedding gown by Waters Brides from Proposals in Little Rock, AR. Her shoes were Kate Spade from Zappos.com, and jewelry from Mon Ami Jewelry. The bridesmaids wore dresses from J.Crew, while the men wore Joseph Abboud Tuxedos from Men's Warehouse. After Amanda and Chris got ready, they had their first look in the University Club library. Then we headed out on the town for some photographs with the whole wedding party before heading to Holy Family Catholic Church for their wedding ceremony.
Video was by John from Klein Video Services, and florals by Matt from Event Creative.
Then it was back to the University Club for the reception. The wedding cake and catering were provided in house, and the evenings entertainment was provided by Michael Lerich Productions, Inc.
Some evening photos out on Michigan Ave, and the day was complete!
Congrats Amanda and Chris!

Brittany+Scott's Renaissance Hotel Wedding

The Proposal: Their first trip together was to Ohio University in Athens, OH in Dec. 2010 (which is Scott's alma matar). They were there for a wedding. About 3 years later (Oct 2013) Brittany and Scott returned to Scott's college for homecoming. Scott suggested they take a walk from the hotel to the campus to get to the homecoming tailgate. Once they got to campus, Scott began started to give Brittany a tour and the next thing she knew,  he proposed in front of his freshman dorm. Brittany thought all his friends were going to jump out and be taking photos, but it was just her and Scott alone, making it really romantic and special. It was fun to celebrate in a place that is near and dear to Scott and now is near and dear to Brittany and all their friends too. Brittany was very surprised, as she thought it was going to take place the following weekend, as the couple had a trip planned to London for Scott's 30th birthday. It was so fun to be surprised in Ohio and then to celebrate in London. Speaking of surprises, Scott is also planning the honeymoon and the location is a surprise!

The Wedding: The whole days festivities, planned by Linda Alpert, took place at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Chicago. We started with Brittany getting ready. Her makeup was by Kristy Oliverio, hair by Gianna Pulia of Rocco & Rocca Salon, gown by House of Brides Couture, shoes by Kate Spade, and jewelry by Nadri. The Bridesmaids wore LulaKate from Bella Bridesmaids, and the Groom and Groomsmen wore Vera Wang suits from Men's Warehouse
After everyone got ready, we put Scott out on the balcony so Brittany could sneak up behind him for their first look. Then we took the whole wedding party to the Chicago Theater area for some photos before heading back to the Renaissance for the Ketubah signing and wedding ceremony. Videography by R.E.M, florals by ArtQuest LTD, and the evenings entertainment was by Front of House. The couple gave away favors of Garrett's Popcorn to their guests, and a great time was had by everyone!
Congrats Brittany and Scott!
