WOW!

This is Kristen and Jon on the steps of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago - an edgy and modern location for their wedding ceremony. We had a great day with these two photographing their Chicago wedding with stops at Olive Park and Michigan Avenue to name a few.
That lovely blonde is not only the sister of the bride, Kristen, but she is also one of our talented photographers! Maggie got to experience a wedding from a whole different perspective - a maid of honor instead of the photographer!
In fact, Maggie was so excited that she fainted at the altar! No need to worry though, she is doing just fine and has added to the memories of the day for Kristen and Jon.

Truly, the MCA is a great space for a reception. Kristen and Jon did a fabulous job picking this location - look how wellthe artwork on the walls represents their fun personalities!

Emily & Nate

We love shooting engagement pictures! As we have said many times before, it is a great way to get to know our clients and have some fun. Also, its nice to get some romantic pictures not all dressed up in a big white dress and penguin suit. Emily and Nate wanted a few shots around the city that reflected their fun and funky personalities. So off we went to make some fun pictures around the city. The final stop was Japonais (where they got engaged) for a cocktail on the patio. They are getting married this fall at the Chicago Cultural Center, so check back in a few months for what will surely be some cute wedding pictures!

Kurt in South Africa!

As some of you may know our very own Kurt Gerber is in South Africa right now on vacation. Ever the photographer, he refuses to put down the camera - even when he isn't shooting weddings. He reported that he's just come off of an AMAZING safari and has some great images to show for it. Here's just a taste of the things he's seen while down there.

Stay tuned as when he gets back we'll be posting loads more!

9 months and counting

We love repeats! We've been photographing Caroline since she was a little peanut. Now she's getting to be a really big girl. It's so much fun to see how much babies change and the speed in which they do it.
See you again in three months Caroline!

Lisa + Gordon

A few weeks ago we got to work with a fantastic couple, Lisa and Gordan at Chicago's newest and hottest addition to the skyline, The Trump Tower. Lisa and Gordon, both work in the hotel industry, so they knew they wanted something fresh and unique. The Trump fit all of their needs as well as providing an AMAZING view from the rooftop bar "Sixteen". Supposedly G+S is the first team that's been able to photograph a couple out on the terrace which of course was a huge privilege.

It was a spectacular event with amazing florals by K La Designs, Cake from Take the Cake, Music by Stitely Entertainment and of course all of it was perfectly coordinated by Darcey of Big City Events.

Big thanks to everyone involved! And a very special thank you to Lisa + Gordon for including us in their special day!

The Knot!

Gerber+Scarpelli has again been honored by the Knot and has a featured wedding by our very own Nick Gerber in the newest regional magazine. It's always great to see your name in print, but it's especially special when it's a client that was an absolute blast to work with. It's also significant to note that we wouldn't have gotten the feature were it not the other great vendors that put their blood, sweat, and tears into making the wedding gorgeous. Not to mention it was at The Chicago History Museum, which makes our job easy!

Natalie Walsh - Hello Darling Florals

Thanks again to everyone and a special thanks to Natasha and Matt for being such a pleasure to work with!!!
