Laura & Lee
Laura and Lee are absolutely amazing. They are moving to Seattle the week after their wedding and wanted to take a little piece of Chicago with them. So what better memories than to get married here before they left. They tied the knot at the beautiful Carleton Hotel in Oak Park, where they had an intimate ceremony with family and friends. After a cocktail hour filled with hors d'oeuvres and Nancy O'Brien strumming Stairway to Heaven on the harp, we loaded the bus and headed Downtown. We had the perfect amount of time to make some really beautiful photographs, starting at the Shedd Aquarium then heading to Millennium Park and making our way south to the the gardens at the Art Institute. Laura and Lee got engaged on the bridge from the park to the art institute so these locations had a special place in their hearts. We closed out the night with a wonderful meal and a few drinks at the Chicago Firehouse Restaurant. It was an amazing day and we are very thankful we got to spend it with them!

Randi & Jared
Randi and Jared: a couple of style and grace. When we first started out the day, Randi was saying, "I don't know how to move, I don't know what to do..." We told her to just be natural, and then she whips out these sexy, sleek, awesome moves! It just goes to show that when you feel comfortable and just be yourself, you will photograph beautifully no matter what! Randi and Jared are a great couple; when they were signing the Ketubah, Randi got really choked up and had a hard time moving on. She couldn't even finish what she was saying because her emotions took over, and she asked Jared to move on to his part. All their loved ones insisted that Randi take her time and continue reading when she was ready, but she was still having a hard time. Then Jared simply said, "Would it help if you imagined me naked?!" The whole room bursted out in laughter and Randi was able to continue reading her piece to Jared. Though the Rabbi might not have liked the comment, it was so cool to see the groom know exactly how to ease his bride's nerves.

Kate & Matt's Engagement Session
This lovely couple are super cute together! Kate and Matt are getting married this fall in the Chicago suburb of Lake Forest. They live in downtown Chicago, at the historic Marina Towers, and wanted a few pictures in their swank downtown hood. So we took off early on a spring Friday afternoon and hit a few spots. We captured the city from above and below, watched as the fog rolled in off the lake, and made some awesome pictures.

A Match made in India
This stunning wedding took our breath away. The bride, Sabrina Hans, is a good friend and owner of Sabrina Hans Events, one of the foremost South Asian wedding planners in the midwest. We were very excited to shoot her reception at the historic Chicago Hilton on South Michigan Avenue. Sabrina and Ranvijay have quite the international love story. They met in India and after a whirlwind romance were married in Chicago in May. Tom Kehoe, of Kehoe Designs, transformed the already ornate Grand Ballroom into a place fit for a maharaja. The night played like a Bollywood musical, including choreographed dances, an indian TV crew, and the requisite cast of thousands. Ranvijay even got into the mix of it and serenaded Sabrina during their first dance. Nisar, Sabrina's righthand man, kept everything running smoothly, and DJ Banti kept the party going late into the night!
Congratulations to Sabrina and Ranvijay! Thank you for letting us be apart of your amazing day!

A European Wedding Reception... In Chicago!
Jessie and Brian have quite a history... they met back in the nineties while attending high school at St. Ignatius. It all started when Brian laid eyes on Jessie across the quad, and at that moment he knew - it was time to make a mix tape, complete with Adam Sandler's Wedding Singer rendition of "I Wanna Grow Old With You." Precious!
Since their story started at St. Ignatius, Jessie and Brian knew they should get married there. The venue, a beautiful private college prep, looks like it was taken right out of a European garden. The ivy, architecture, sculptures... everything makes the location look like you transported yourself to another continent. If you're looking for something different for your wedding location, try taking a lush step onto the grounds of St. Ignatius and imagine yourself thousands of miles away.
