The Proposal: Rob proposed to Morgan on June 2, 2013 in Chicago. On Saturdays in the summer, Rob and Morgan often walk from their home in River North to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Morgan is a big animal lover and in particular loves polar bears. When Rob decided to propose he thought asking Morgan to marry him on Saturday at Lincoln Park Zoo would be perfect. A few days before Rob was going to propose to Morgan, she surprised him with the news that she would be attending a tea party at the Drake Hotel that Saturday in celebration of the pending birth of the Royal baby. Rob, heeding the advice of his sister Becky, quickly decided that he would instead propose at the tea party. Rob crafted a note on royal letterhead requesting Morgan’s presence at the gazebo north of the Drake hotel where she would meet her “prince charming”. Rob had the note delivered to Morgan by the hotel concierge. Morgan had no idea what was going on but quickly figured it out when she crossed Oak Street and saw Rob waiting under the gazebo with flowers. In front of onlookers, Rob got down on one knee and proposed to Morgan. After saying yes, Morgan returned to the tea party to meet her Mom and sister who watched the whole thing unfold from the hotel windows overlooking the park.
The Wedding Day: Morgan got ready at her parents condo, while Rob prepped for the big day at the Union League Club. Morgan's makeup was done by Enrique Enriquez, her undo was by Ashley Martin, gown by Vera Wang, and shoes by Kate Spade. Bridesmaid's dresses and accessories by J.Crew, Groomsmen wore their own tuxes, while the Groom wore Tom Ford. Florals by Virginia Wolff. The couple chose to not see each other until Morgan walked down the aisle at Queen of All Saints Church. After the couple became Husband and Wife, we hopped on the trolley and headed to Lincoln Park Zoo for photographs of the whole bridal party. Took a wedding party on the carousel at the zoo for the first time! After taking all the photos at the zoo, we headed to the classic reception held at the Union League Club. Music by David Rothstein Band, and the cake was a collaboration between Virginia Wolff and ULC. The reception was lively, filled with dancing and touching speeches.
Congrats Morgan and Rob!
