Lindsey+Tom's Classic University Club Wedding

The Proposal: Lindsey and Tom were going to dinner with Tom's parents at Spiaggia in downtown Chicago, so they were dressed up for a night on the town. Tom had suggested going to an afternoon mass at Holy Name Cathedral beforehand and then looking at some of the Christmas lights along Michigan Avenue before dinner. However, when they got out of Mass, it was about 10 degrees outside and Lindsey was reluctant to casually stroll outside. Tom seemed very eager though, so she agreed to a quick walk. They walked past the Water Tower with the surrounding gardens covered in Christmas lights and Tom led Lindsey through one of the overhangs of lights to the Christmas tree. There he dropped down to one knee and presented her with a ring from Alan Rocca

The Wedding Day: Began with getting ready at University Club. The day was planned by Debi Lilly, and she was also responsible for the florals. Lindsey's hair was by Julie Hansen, and makeup by Arch Apothecary- Weddings. Her gown was by Judd Waddell from Bella Bianca, shoes by Kate Spade, and jewelry from Macy's. Bridesmaid's wore J.Crew, while the Groom and Groomsmen wore suits from Men's Warehouse.  The couple had their first look where Tim gave Lindsey a lovely gift and handwritten card. We then headed to the ceremony at Old St. Pat's! After Lindsey and Tom tied the knot, we took the newlyweds around town to some of the favorite classic spots for photographs.
The reception followed back at University Club, with cake and catering taken care of in house, and Colby Beserra and the Party Faithful kept the dance floor alive late into the night. Wedding Masterpiece covered the cinematic moments of the wedding.
Congrats Lindsey and Tom!

Blair+Martin's Urban Chic City Winery Wedding

The Proposal: Their Story is….that they have no story! At least it’s not a traditional story. As in everything Blair and Martin do, they approached the proposal as a team. The couple had discussed getting engaged by December and in true Martin fashion he waited until the November 27th to decide to propose. They were driving in the car and Martin just turned to Blair and said “I think today is the day we should go look at rings?”
They decided to go to a friend of the family’s jeweler, and together picked out a ring. Blair choose the setting and Martin choose the stone. It was meant to be, because they were able to take the ring that day (apparently that never happens bc of the size of the setting).
Blair had always told Martin that before he proposed he had to ask both of her brothers and her mom….They decided after buying the ring to go celebrate with a Margarita (Blair's fav). Martin called Blair's mom and she came to meet the couple. Martin basically asked her for permission the second he saw her walking in the door. A family dinner was already arranged for later that evening, and the whole family met at a tiny wine bar next to the restaurant….Martin snuck away and individually asked both of her brothers if he could marry their sister.
As Martin walked backed in to the bar, he made a B’ line to Blair, dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him in front of her whole family. Even though she knew it was coming she still cried!!! And of course said YES!

The Wedding: Blair and Martin started at the day getting read at  The James. Blair's hair was done by Alissa Lavine, makeup by Rachel Condron, with a Monique Lhuillier gown from Casa De Novia. Her jewelry was a gift from Martin from Styles Jewelers, and her shoes were by Stuart Weitzman. Bridesmaides wore Herve Leger, Groomsmen wore Vera Wang, and the Groom wore a custom suit by Q Clothier. Day of coordination was by Designer Events Chicago. After everyone was ready we took their trolley to Old St. Pat's for the ceremony.
Everything went according to plan, and the two were wed in the historic church. After the ceremony, we went to several favorite spots for photographs, then headed to City Winery for the reception.
Florals were by Flower Firm, catering was taken care of in house by City Winery, the cake was by Sweet Mandy B's, and the evenings entertainment was provided by David Rothstein/ Jeff Sanders. Everyone had a great time, and one of the evenings highlights was Mom guest staring on the drums!
Congrats Blair and Martin!
