Carly+Brandon's Unique Art Institute of Chicago Wedding

The Proposal: Brandon and Carly met during graduate school in Chicago; however, their training took them to New York, Albuquerque, and San Diego during the subsequent four years. Although they have settled at last in San Francisco, Brandon wanted to revisit their favorite places in Chicago for their engagement and planned a trip under the guise of opera tickets for an early Christmas gift.  Following the opera and dinner at their favorite restaurant,Avec, Brandon took advantage of the unseasonably warm December night to suggest they take a walk through the park, where he proposed.  He gave her a beautiful vintage ring from Mureta's Antiques, San Francisco.

The Wedding Day: In early June, the couple prepared for their wedding together at The Palmer House Hilton.  Carly's amazing updo was by close friend and famed hairstylist, Enzo Angileri. Her unique wedding gown was designed by Maggie Sottero, bridal shoes by Badgley Mischka, and she wore family jewelry. Carly decided to have her bridesmaids each wear their own favorite black dress, and their own accessories. Groom and Groomsmen wore tuxes and whatever accessories they chose. The rich and colorful florals were by Blossom Boys. After getting ready, everyone headed over to the Art Institute of Chicago for their ceremony, where Carly and Brandon were married on their grand staircase. After the ceremony we went all around the Art Institute for photographs. The Art Institute court yard reception that followed was beautiful. Outdoor lighting by Devin Carroll, the favors were hand wrapped in origami, “Blossoming Fortune Tea” from New Mexico Tea Company (which was a favorite of the couples when they lived in Albuquerque). Catering was by Bon Appetit, cakes were by Scafuri Bakery, and special dessert, ice cream from The Plush Horse, where Brandon first met Carly's family. The reception's entertainment was provided by the rocking ladies of Toast & Jam. Carly and Brandon really made their wedding great with personal touches, like the escort cards hung from a museum frame, stone vases, time lapse photography of the lounge area that was an antique couch belonging to Carly's grandmother, and circle dances in both the Greek and Jewish traditions.

Congrats Carly+Brandon!
