Kim & Joe's Fall Engagement Shoot

We. Love. Fall. Maybe it's the pumpkin spice latte's or that we can bring layers back to our wardrobe. Add in the way the light turns yellow with the color of the leaves and it's just an unbeatable time of the year for a photographer. Here are some of our favorite images from an engagement session with Kim and Joe. A little trot from Lincoln Park to North Ave yielded some lovely photographs of the season and at the very end the session we swung by Beaumont's where this wonderful couple met for the first time 3 years ago. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! 

Sonya & Neil's NYC Central Park Engagement

This past week we had some of our photographers head out to New York City for some fun and work in the Big Apple. While we were out there, we had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session with Sonya and Neil who are getting married in Chicago in September.  There couldn't be a better location to photograph an engagement than Central Park.  It was absolutely gorgeous with all the Cherry Blossoms and Magnolia trees in full bloom.  It was great walking through the park with them and we can't wait for their wedding in Fall!

Bri and David's Engagement Session

A few years ago, we shot Bri's sister Erin's wedding in Lake Forest. It was a beautiful and fun filled day. When their mom called to book us for Bri's wedding, we were jumping up and down! The lovely couple live in London, so finding a time that worked for everybody took some long term planning. But we pulled it off and on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, we took a stroll through the Fort Sheridan forest preserve. We can't wait to see you both back here next year to tie the knot!  

Abby & Andy's Lincoln Park Engagement Session

What a beautiful engagement session these two had!  Abby and Andy are getting married next summer at the Cultural Center, but picked Lincoln Park to do their engagement session because they spend a bunch of time there on the weekends.  We did some cool shots with the skyline in the background, but also went by the farm because they're both from the country.  Also, they're both fans of Disney - hence the Andy boot!  Check back in 2013 to see their wedding photos; they're bound to be awesome!

Nika & Ryan's Engagement Session

We first met Nika ten years ago at her sister wedding. Now that she is getting hitched, we couldn't be happier to join the festivities! For Nika and Ryan's Engagement Session we met them in Lincoln Park for a few fun pictures with the foliage. This lovely couple made everything so easy! We can't wait for their wedding next June at St James and The Peninsula. 

Caroline & John's Engagement Session

Caroline and John's engagement session was so much fun!  We got a great view of the skyline from the south loop, and then got a whole different view of it from the north side!  They are going to have a great wedding this fall at the Local 399 Engineer's Hall - check back later to see more!

Destination Engagement Session: Kim & Chad Madison Engagement

Here at Gerber+Scarpelli, we love cheese.  That's why we had no problem going up to Wisconsin for an engagement shoot!  Kim and Charlie took us all the way up to Madison for their session.  They met while attending school there, and as any dedicated sports fan would, Charlie proposed with a football jersey!  He got the words "Marry Me" put on the back and clearly, she couldn't resist.  Check back later to see photos from their wedding!

Greg & Michelle: Engagement Session

As it so happens, Greg and Michelle are getting married in Minneapolis, however, they knew they wanted to get engagement photos against the beautiful backdrop of Chicago. So often people who live in Chicago get married elsewhere, even though The Windy City is a part of their story. We love doing engagement shoots and even if you happen to be working with another photographer or getting married in another city we offer them a la carte engagement sessions and would love to work with you!
