On Memorial Day weekend, Mike, Cory, and Melody photographed Themi and Brian's wedding. We had a great time with these two; it was especially fun to experience their ceremony and reception with a cultural mix of Themi's Greek heritage and Brian's Irish heritage.
They got married downtown at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and had their reception at the Holiday Inn Merchandise Mart.
We took advantage of being downtown and took some fun photos over the Chicago River. Helloooooo Windy City!
During the reception, the sun set and gave their room an amazing glow. That background color is 100% real, we swear!
Brian's family incorporated bottles of Irish whisky (actually brewed in Ireland!) to represent his ethnic background. Themi had her Koumbara with her to celebrate the day. In the Greek wedding tradition, the Koumbara is similar to a maid of honor.
And of course, it wouldn't be a Greek wedding without hours of dancing and money throwing!
