When Kay and Gearin first started planning their wedding they knew they wanted Chicago to be featured prominently. They saw each other for the first time at their ceremony at the Tiffany Garden at the south end of Buckingham Fountain. After a great photo tour we found our way back to the SwissĂ´tel where their guests got to take in the AMAZING views of Michigan Ave and Navy Pier from the 43rd floor. Kay and Gearin threw down an awesome party with the help of Roberto Monastero spinning tunes and Kayla of Big City Bride making sure every detail was attended too. Check out some of our favorite pictures below and a BIG 'Thank You' to Kay and Gearin!

Operation: Route 66
Our very own Kurt and Nick Gerber depart Saturday on a journey that has been a year in the making. Departing from Soldier Field the father/son team will ride motorcycles across the United States to Los Angeles. The guys will be meeting, interviewing, filming and photographing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with a film crew their hope is to turn the content they collect into a documentary film and collection of photographs which raises money and awareness for veterans organizations easing the transition of our American Heroes after 10 years of war.
"As a country, I don't think we've ever had a war that we've collectively felt so disconnected from".
- Nick Gerber
The goal is to share the voices and faces of these warriors with the 99% of civilians they've been serving. Additionally the father and son team hopes to say "thank you" to the brave men and women who have been on the front lines.
Please visit their website and if you'd like to track them as they ride across the United States you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and their blog.
"It's a historic time in the United States, and as a country it's our responsibility to make sure this generation of veterans are shown appreciation for their brave service."
- Kurt Gerber
Best of luck from all of us at Gerber + Scarpelli!

Our Very Own!
One of our photographers, Nick Gerber, is getting married! This fall he'll be tying the knot with Darcey of Big City Bride. The two met in 2006 while working a wedding and became friends. In 2009 they admitted to each other they actually had deeper feelings and New Years of 2010/ 2011 he asked her to marry him in Paris. Check out their engagement video below!
