Emily+Fabio's Downtown Chicago Sofitel Water Tower Wedding

The Proposal Story:  Emily and Fabio's proposal story (and marriage story) is a little unconventional! The couple actually got legally married, in a courthouse, on July 26, 2013. Later that summer, on the way to Maine to visit Emily's family, Fabio surprised her (on the airplane) with an engagement ring. The proposal was made much more dramatic than intended by an overzealous flight attendant who seemed to just wanted something exciting to happen on his flight. So, with Emily and Fabio standing in the front of the plane (having just woken up), with everyone watching, and the announcement over the intercom, they were engaged (and already married, unbeknownst to the passengers)! The date of the wedding, July 25, is one year from the day they decided to get married in 2013.

The Wedding Day: Emily and Fabio planned their entire wedding to take place at Sofitel Water Tower, so the day's timeline had room to breathe. The couple got ready separately at Sofitel, and had their first look on the glass stairs. Emily's makeup was done by her friend Clare Summers, Updo by Salon Buzz, her gown was by Allure, heels by Nina, and Emily's wedding band was her grandmother's. After the first look, we went out on the town for some photos with the couple and their wedding party. We returned to the Sofitel for the ceremony, were Emily and Fabio were married(AGAIN!). Then it was on to cocktail hour, followed by their reception, where the couple worked in some Brazilian elements honoring Fabio's family heritage. Music by Luciano Antonio, Jack Zara, Luiz Ewerling, and Carl Abram who are friends of the Groom. Video was captured by Jeff Daniel, a friend of the Bride, florals were by Nancy Krause Floral Design,  cake by Cake Chicago, and in house catering by Sofitel. A wonderful couple, and a beautiful wedding day!
Congrats Emily and Fabio!

Roshan+Renny's Mehndi Ceremony

Renny+ Roshan's colorful four day traditional Hindu wedding began at the bride's home with the mehndi ceremony. The mehndi designs are very intricate. Hidden within Roshan's mehndi, Renny's initials were incorporated into the design on her hands. The event is a celebration, with dancing and bright colors. Three more elaborate days were to follow! There are so many pre-wedding, wedding and post wedding ceremonies that this will be a four part blog post.
Check back next week for more!
