Bridget+Patrick's Union League Club Wedding

The Proposal: Bridget and Patrick were up in Minnesota visiting her family the weekend before Christmas. Saturday morning, Patrick suggested that they go downtown to have a Christmas lunch as a special Christmas outing. Before going to lunch, the couple stopped by her grandparents apartment to say hi…during the visit Bridget's grandpa thought they had (already) just gotten engaged! Thankfully, Bridget was clueless and did not pick up on his comment. After that, Patrick took her to the church she grew up in, and He proposed there. Following the proposal Bridget and Patrick went to lunch as planned. By the time they finally arrived back at her parent’s house, Bridget walked through the door, screamed “I am engaged” and found 50 people in the house there to celebrate the engagement! It was a fantastic surprise and a great party.

The Wedding: Bridget and Patrick got ready at the Union League Club and the JW Marriot respectively. The wedding was planned by Clementine Custom Events, with florals by Dilly Lily and stationary by William Arthur. Bridget's gown was her mother's dress that she had modernized, her jewelry was from Tiffany's, and her shoes were by Manolo Blahnik. The bride's makeup was by Cathleen Weimer and her hair was by Charles Ifergan. The Bridesmaids wore Monique Lhuillier, while the Groom and Groomsmen wore suits from Brooks Brothers.

We photographed each half of the wedding party then headed to Old St. Patrick's Church for the ceremony. Bridget and Patrick saw each other for the first time as the bride walked down the aisle.

After the couple were married, we took the full wedding party around for more photos. Finally we arrived back at the Union League Club of Chicago for the reception where Orchestra 33 performed, great food was had, and at the end of the night we stole the newlyweds outside for a few minutes for their final portraits of the night.

Last week we got the chance to work with a GREAT couple... well, all our couples are great, but Ashley and Casey were especially fun! The couple got to see each other for the first time at The Ivy Room before we hit the town for photos. After, we returned to The Ivy Room where Casey and Ashley tied the knot and threw an awesome party! With perfect details and great event organization (courtesy of Katie Kozlowski of Bliss Weddings and Events and Donna Albertson of The Ivy Room) the night went off without a hitch!
