Operation Route 66: Pop Up Art Show

As some of you may know, our very own Kurt and Nick Gerber are working on a documentary film project. The film is about them riding their motorcycles across historic Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles. Along the way they'll be interviewing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - other parents and children who have served our country over the last 10 years. They decided this was an important venture and we completely agree.

For this reason, the pair are hosting a Pop Up Art Show. Come to the G.R. N'Namdi gallery on Friday, April 13 for a night of wine, cheese, good music, and good company. We will be selling prints, and 100% of the proceeds will go to Operation Route 66.

It will be a great opportunity to have a good time, network with other Chicagoans (perhaps get to know the photographer for your upcoming wedding!), and raise money for a great cause.

Mike & Megan's MCA Wedding

We absolutely adore spring weddings, especially when the weather happens to be as nice as it is now! Mike and Megan just tied the knot at Old St Pats and had an amazing party at The Museum of Contemporary Art. The day went perfectly and so did the night and we feel extremely privileged to have been a part of such a wonderful celebration! Take a look at some of the pictures below.

And as always, we give our best to the newlyweds!

Brides and Blooms

This past Wednesday we had the privilege to participate in Brides and Blooms at the Hotel InterContinental Chicago. The event brought together some of the best vendors in Chicago and was flawlessly orchestrated by Melissa Phillips of Simply Perfect by Melissa. Chris Schmidt and his staff from the InterCon were fabulous as usual. The kitchen staff really outdid themselves with all the yummy hors d'oeuvres. It was great to spend an evening with some of our favorite people including Keith from Poetic Productions and Cheryl from Shutter Booth. Anthony Gowder pulled out all the stops with his gorgeous florals. MFO Entertainment kept everybody movin' and grovin'. Beauty on Call was on hand to make all the guests look and feel their best. Ultimate Bride and Bella Bridesmaid brought the breathtaking dress, and The Left Bank made sure they were accessorized perfectly. Bittersweet and Take the Cake made sure they room smelled of nothing but their sweet confections. And no event is complete without the fabulous designs and witty commentary of Elizabeth Grace. It is such a pleasure to work with all of you year in and year out! Thanks to Melissa for including us, along with such a great group of vendors!

Operation: Route 66

As some of you may know, our very own Kurt and Nick Gerber are working on a documentary film project. The film is about them riding their motorcycles across historic Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles. Along the way they'll be interviewing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - other parents and children who have served our country over the last 10 years. They decided this was an important venture and we completely agree. You can see their latest trailer here:

The pair will be hosting a fundraiser at the Columbia Yacht Club on Thursday April 19th and would be honored if you would attend. With veteran speakers, raffles, food and drink the goal is to raise some awareness of the issues of our returning veterans as well as to have some fun and gather funds to get this film project made. It's an important issue and we're excited for them as they are going on an adventure and raise the collective level of awareness of these veterans who are deserving of our admiration and respect.

If you can't make the fundraiser, don't worry - we'll shortly be announcing a print sale featuring photographs, paintings, digital art and prints from the artists in our studio, as well as a hootenanny of sorts at a local bar. You can also support the project by joining the boys on Facebook and Twitter. Any support helps, wether it's spreading the word or even donating a couple dollars

Many Thanks from the Gerber + Scarpelli Crew.
